APIA: Tuesday 10 Nov 2009 -The Samoa Victim Support Group is seeking information from the Registrar of the Court, regarding a letter written by a court official that may have interfered with the course of justice.

CEO Viliamu Paese said that a court official wrote to the Lands and Titles Court, to banish a male from Faleula village. The matter relates to the case where the MP from Faleula village has been charged for uttering threatening words to kill Sauleone Solomona of the same village. The MP is appearing in court on the 17th of this month to answer the charge.
Viliamu Paese said they had been instrumental in pushing the case after Solomona complained about the lack of action by the Police to lay charges against the MP. The letter to the Lands and Titles Court asking the Village Council to banish Sauleone Solomona was done before the charges were made against the MP.
Solomona claims that the MP has a part in an incident where he was shot at close range, but missed and the bullet was deposited in the wall of his home. He laid a complaint with the Police who retrieved the bullet. After waiting for several months without any progress, he sought help from the Samoa Victim Support Group.
