The driver of the bus that killed eight people on Monday last week is a former prisoner and still has to answer a separate case of negligent driving causing death. Felise Urima was under heavy police guard as he appeared in Court yesterday.
He has been released on bail and needs to sign with the police three days a week and his travel documents have been withheld by the Court.
His lawyer requested that he be released in order to complete treatment for his injuries and also to appear in the traditional apologies - the ifoga, that his family is planning for the families of victims of the bus accident.
Fifteen passengers are still in hospital recovering from injuries when the bus lost control and rolled before landing on its roof, crushing many of the passengers under its weight.
