APIA: 13 March 2010: A 42 year old man from Apolima Island [see photo] who claims to be Prince Pita, is causing quite a stir amongst the small Samoan community in the Netherlands. The group, is unhappy about the way Samoa is being depicted in a television series that Pita stars as a Samoan prince.

Complete with a Samoan high chiefs attire, Prince Pita joins two others, Prince Livio (37) from Italy and Prince Shiv (32) from India as they search for wives in the Netherlands.
But the Samoan community, are serious about their concerns and have already contacted a Samoa government official about what can be done.
The group plans to watch this week's episode as a group and share their views about the film and how Samoa is being depicted by the prince and what they can do.

Talamua has been told, a formal complaint to the TV station, is one of the options.

The three princes escapades in the Netherlands, is based on "Coming to America" that starred Eddie Murphy and was about a prince from a rich African state that came and worked as a
cleaner in a restaurant in New York owned by the parents of an Afro-American girl that he fell in love with and later married, against protestations from his parents.

The real identity of the 42 year old Prince Pita from Apolima Island has yet to be determined but part of the film was filmed on the island following his trip from his island in Samoa to Europe as he searches for a wife there.

The show is produced and aired by the commercial TV station called SBS6.
