APIA, SAMOA – 30 MARCH 2021: Lawyer Mauga Precious Chang has set the record straight regarding the men charged with forgery over election documents claiming that they are not Fa’atuatua I le Atua Samoa ua Tasi – FAST committee members.

Three men were charged by police and bailed last Saturday and the Samoa Observer named them as FAST Committee members.

“At this stage, because it is a proceeding in which matters are already filed with the Court, our law firm Lui and Chang cannot make any comments except that they are not FAST committee members and that they deny the allegations against them,” said Mauga.

Early this month, the Electoral Commissioner confirmed that some political party members have duplicated the pre-polling documents and used them by pretending to be members of the Office of the Electoral Commission (OEC).

Once the office realized it, they changed the forms and process to register voters who opt for pre polling which runs from 5-8 April before the general elections on 9 April.
