Foreign Affairs explains the 198 Chinese workers who have arrived in Samoa
APIA, SAMOA 03 MAY 2021: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an explanation of where the 198 Chinese workers who arrived four days ago will work in Samoa.
The group arrived on Thursday 29 April, on the charter flight arranged by the China Harbour Engineering Company, in collaboration with the Embassy of China.
The MFA release said the charter was to bring the company’s workers for the ADB funded Apia Port Safety project, the new Chinese embassy and the Police academy.
The Forensic pathologist team will assist the courts and Ministry of Police in expediting the conclusion of outstanding cases requiring forensic analyses and subsequent release of bodies for burial.
The flight also brought in technical experts for a number of other development projects for Samoa as follows:
