APIA, SAMOA – 03 JUNE 2021: The Minister elect for the Environment and Tourism, Toeolesulusulu Cedric Schuster has stepped down after he was charged for driving under the influence on Tuesday this week.

The Prime Minister elect and FAST Leader, Fiamē Naomi Mata’afa announced this evening that she has accepted Toeolesulusulu’s decision that was prompted by his respect for the rule of law and the protection of the integrity of the office.

Fiamē said she respects Toeolesulusulu’s decision and based on the principle that the charged is innocent until proven guilty, he remains a Member of Parliament and that the member has the Party’s full support as he follows the process to clear his good name in the court of law.
