13 Covid-19 related deaths so far

APIA, SAMOA – 19 APRIL 2022: A 73 year old male is the latest Covid-19 related death confirmed by the latest Ministry of Health Situational Report 16-18th April 2022. It brings the number of deaths so far to 13.

Two elderly people were confirmed victims of the pandemic in the Easter weekend. They were an 80 year old female and an 86 year old male.

The latest report also confirmed 362 new community cases, 15 cases in managed isolation and 4 critical cases in ICU at the Moto’otua Hospital within the period from 2:00pm 16th April to 2:00pm 18th April, 2022.

The Ministry continues to remind members of the public to remain vigilant and take heed of public health advice to wear face masks, keep to the 2 meter social distancing in public places, stay home and isolate if you are feeling unwell and practice safe personal hygiene at all times.

“The public is again urged to get vaccinated as vaccination remains the best defense against COVID-19 pandemic. Keeping our families and loved ones safe is everyone’s responsibility,” the Ministry advises.
