8 new positive cases off the Yuh Chang Fishing Vessel

APIA, SAMOA – 23 APRIL 2022: The Ministry of Health has confirmed eight (8) new positive border cases that came through the Matautu wharf. Very limited information is provided in the Ministry’s latest Situational Report of the 19-20 April.

The report said “Matautu Wharf, Yuh Chang No.1 fishing vessel April 19, 2022 – 8 positive cases.” It does not provide information if the cases are isolated or not.

The number of Covid-19 related deaths remains at 13 in between this period.

In the latest report, the Ministry of Health confirmed 383 new community cases, 18 cases in managed isolation and 3 critical cases in ICU at the Moto’otua Hospital in the last 24hours from 2:00pm 19th April to 2:00pm 20th April, 2022.

The total number of community cases is now recorded at 7,114.   COVID-19 cases at Port of Entry (POE) total 71 including eight (8) new positive border cases confirmed in the last 24hours.
