Head of Police Tactical Operation Services warned

APIA, SAMOA – 31 MAY 2022: The head of the Police Tactical Operational Services (TOS), Inspector Tagaloasa Toddy Iosefa has been given a warning following an incident last Friday while escorting the visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Peoples Republic of China to the Taumeasina Resort.

The Acting Commissioner of Police at the time, Afamasaga Samuelu Afamasaga confirmed the incident with Talamua where Tagalosa was heard issuing harsh words against the police driver which was overheard by some bystanders.

“But it was nothing major,” said Afamasaga.

He said an officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned the incident to him but was not an official complaint.

Afamasaga said he has spoken and warned the Inspector involved over the incident.

Reports were also obtained from the police officers who were around during the incident.

Afamasaga’s turn as Acting Commissioner ended over the weekend and Papali’i Monalisa Keti has taken over as Acting Commissioner on a rotational basis.
