APIA, SAMOA – 13 JULY 2032: The Methodist Church has reappointed the President, Reverend Faulalo Leti and the Ministerial Board to lead the Church through the 2023-2024 calendar year.

The appointments were confirmed in a vote yesterday at the church’s annual conference that started on Sunday at the church headquarters at Faleula.

The Ministerial Board include the Church Secretary, Reverend Eteuati Tuioti and Treasurer, Reverend Ellice Soliola.

The three were re-nominated for voting this year and had been in the church leadership for close to five years.

Reverend Tuioti said the nomination for President and the Ministerial Board is conducted every year and the appointments will be effective in the next conference.

The three were appointed in last year’s conference and will be leading this year’s conference.

This year’s conference is crucial for the Methodist church as the majority of delegates were able to fly in from overseas despite the short notice on the re-opening of Samoa’s international borders.

Reverend Tuioti said approximately 92 percent of overseas church ministers and representatives are able to attend this year’s conference.

“Some weren’t able to make it because they couldn’t book a flight as we didn’t expect borders to open so soon, while some were unable to travel but so far, everyone’s excited that finally things are starting to open up again and hopefully in the coming years, everything will be back to normal,” said Reverend Tuioti.
