Former Deputy Electoral Commissioner Appeals Conviction

APIA, SAMOA – 04 OCTOBER 2022: The former Electoral Deputy Commissioner, Afualo Daryl Mapu has appealed his conviction.

Afualo was convicted by Justice Tafaoimalo Leilani Tuala-Warren last month on the charges of possession of narcotics and illegal firearms.

He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was convicted after the hearing and he was to be sentenced on 14 October.

His appeal application was presented before Justice Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma yesterday and is set down for hearing on 17 October 2022.
