New PSC Chairman and Commissioners Appointed

The new Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Nonu Lemauga Saleimoa Vaai.

APIA, SAMOA – 07 NOVEMBER 2022: A new Chairman and two members of the Public Service Commission have been appointed as the appointments of Chief Executive Officers for various Government Ministries have been delayed and remain vacant.

Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa confirmed the appointment of Nonu Lemauga Saleimoa Vaai as Chairman replacing Lauano Vaosa Epa who resigned last week,

Fiame also confirmed the appointment of two other new members Gatoloai Tili Afamasaga and Fonoti Perelini Perelini to make up the three member Commission.

Former diplomat appoint Chair of Numeration Tribunal  
Former Samoan diplomat, Tuala Farani Chan Tung has been appointed to Chair the Numeration Tribunal replacing the late Mulitalo Aliimuamua Esekia Solofa while former Chief Executive Officer of the Electric Power Corporation, Mua’ausā Joseph Walter replaces Toleafoa  Faamatala Afamasaga who resigned.

Tuala and Muaausa join Tuiloma Sina Retzlaff as members of the Tribunal.

The appointments will come into effect after the Head of State endorses them.
