Tufulele family loses father and brother in law in car accident

APIA, SAMOA – 16 NOVEMBER 2022: A family at Tufulele-uta is mourning the loss of two members of their family in a weekend car accident.

Deputy Police Commissioner, Papalii Monalisa Keti confirmed in a press conference today that the accident was reported to police around 6.00am on Sunday morning.

Reports said the family that live inland of Tufulele village were rushing a sick family member to the hospital when the accident claimed the lives of the father and his brother n law.

Other family members who were in the car are being treated at the hospital.

In a separate car accident at Salani that also happened on Sunday morning, no deaths were reported, but those who were injured in the accident were also treated at the hospital.

Papalii said the family were on their way to a family meeting at Falealili when the accident happened at a critical bend of the road at Salani.

Police investigations into the two accidents are continuing.
