ANZ Bank female officer charged for theft

APIA, SAMOA – 24 NOVEMBER 2022: A senior female officer of the ANZ Bank has been charged by Police for theft as a servant in relation to an amount of $80,000 tala.
Deputy Police Commissioner, Papalii Monalisa Tiai Keti said the ANZ bank lodged a complaint letter with police against the charged officer.
“However, the amount of the money alleged stolen was not included in the letter. But after the police investigations, the amount of money summed up to $80,000 tala,” Papalii told the media.
Police investigations are on-going and the former banker has been remanded on bail to await her court hearing on 12 December 2022.
She is from the villages of Satoalepai and Nuufou.
