APIA, SAMOA – 23 DECEMBER 2022: Celebrating the spirit of Christmas, the residents of the Campus of Hope shelter for abused children, were the special guests of yesterday’s visit by Jorn Sorensen, the Resident Representative of UNDP in Samoa, and staff.

The visit is an UNDP initiative to spread goodwill and tidings to the children survivors, and a reminder to the children that they are not alone.

The UNDP Samoa brought laughter, humour, singing and even tears, which hypes up the spirit of Christmas together as a family.

There was dancing as the UNDP staff put up special entertainment for the children. There was a whole lot of fun all around.

The Resident Representative himself spoke directly to the children about feeling safe, about being brave; continuing to live well and happy, while praying for God’s strength to carry them through.

He also acknowledged the President and staff of the Samoa Victim Support Group for all the love for the children of hope.

“Thank you so much Jorn and the staff for showing the children that you do care.  Thank you for the laughter and the jolly good fun today.”

And from the SVSG President and the Children of Hope, “We wish you and the staff a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
