Minister of Finance leads Samoa’s delegation to ADB Meeting in Korea

The Minister of Finance, Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molioo with counterparts from the Pacific at the ADB Annual Meeting in the Republic of Korea.

03 MAY 2023: The Minister of Finance, Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molioo is leading Samoa’s delegation to the 56th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development and 33rd Pacific DMCs Governors Meeting being held concurrently in Incheon, Republic of South Korea, 2-5 May 2023.

The high level meeting is attended by several government leaders from the Pacific Islands such as the Prime Minister of Cooks Islands, Mark Brown as the Minister of Finance, the Premier of Niue – Dalton Talagi, the Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji – Professor Birman Chand Prasad, Vice President of Kiribati – Dr. Teuea Toatu and Minsters of Finance from FSM, Palau, Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

Samoa’s high level delegation comprise of Saoleitiiti Maeva Natacha Betham – Vaai, Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Fnance; Maiava Atalina Emma Enari, Governor of the Central Bank of Samoa; Sialei Peresitene Kirifi, Assistant CEO, Aid Coordination & Debt Management Division, MOF; Tuigamala Lanna Loa Lome – Ieremia, Manager, Financial Systems Development, CBS; Sili Margaret Tafunai, Manager, Financial Markets Department, CBS and Tevaga Viane Tagiilima, Chief Executive Officer, Unit Trust of Samoa.

During the weeklong meeting, Samoa’s delegation held bilateral discussions with the President as well as the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank.

As one of Samoa’s major development partners, the meeting looked at the Global Challenges and Regional Opportunities for ADB in 2030 and Beyond and Boosting ADB’s Lending Capacity.
