Sucharu Tandon named as ANZ Country Head, Samoa

APIA, SAMOA – 08 JUNE 2023: ANZ has announced the appointment of Sucharu Tandon as Country Head ANZ Samoa, subject to regulatory approvals.

Reporting to Sarah Stubbings, ANZ Regional Executive for the Pacific, Mr Tandon will have responsibility for ANZ’s retail and commercial banking business in Samoa.

Chair of the Board of Directors of ANZ Bank Samoa, Ms Katrina Gardiner said: “The Pacific is a key part of ANZ’s international network and Samoa is one of our core Pacific markets. Sarah and I look forward to working with Sucharu to build an even stronger business here.”

Mr Tandon has around 20 years’ financial services experience across ANZ, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and JPMorgan Chase.

In his most recent role at ANZ, he has led a team of around 350 people across multiple geographies to remediate issues for customers. He has also held senior product management roles across both home lending and deposits.

“Sucharu is a values-focused leader, with a strong balance of humility and goal orientation. He will help to guide and reinforce ANZ’s culture, connect with customers and community members in Samoa and ultimately help ANZ and our customers achieve sustainable growth,” Ms Stubbings said.

“He’s looking forward to joining the Pacific and being part of a region with such a strong purpose, people, customer and community orientation.”

Subject to regulatory approval, Mr Tandon is expected to commence in the role in July 2023.
