Governor General of Australia start 3 day official visit in Samoa

APIA, SAMOA – 22 JUNE 2023: The Governor General of Australia, His Excellency David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), and Her Excellency Mrs. Linda Hurley are visiting several projects that Australia is assisting in Samoa this morning.
The Governor General and his delegation were welcomed on arrival at the Faleolo International Airport last night by the Prime Minister, Fiame Naomi Mataafa and the Samoa Police Guard of Honour at the start of their three day official visit.
Australia is one of Samoa’s major development partners and the Governor Generals program includes visits to the some of the projects Australia is assisting in Samoa.

1.00pm Lunch hosted by the Prime Minister of Samoa, Fiame Naomi Mataafa

2.20pm Visit to new Pathology Laboratory – Samoa Family Health Association/Business Partnership Platform
Venue: Samoa Family Health Association (Motootua)
5.00pm “Change makers” themed reception hosted by the Australian High Commissioner, HE Ms Emily Luck
Venue: High Commission’s Residence
On Sunday 25 June 2023, the Governor General and his delegation will attend Church with the Head of State & Masiofo, Afioga Tuimalealiifano Va’aletoa Sualauvi II & Masiofo
Venue: EFKS church, Matautu Falelatai.
The Governor-General and his delegation are visiting Samoa, Tonga, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Cook Islands and Vanuatu to celebrate and further strengthen the close bonds between Australia and the Pacific Islands governments and peoples.
