New Zealand Sanitarium Company Hosts School Breakfast & Donate to Health

APIA, SAMOA – 27 JULY 2023: The New Zealand based Sanitarium Health Food Company hosted a breakfast treat for 25 primary schools from around the country this morning and later donated $10,000 worth of linen to the National Hospital at Moto’otua.

The company’s National Marketing Manager, Pete Davis said the breakfast treat which is worth $10,000 is their way of acknowledging the community’s support for the 60 company staff who are attending the company conference in Samoa.

Sanitarium is the leading healthy food company in New Zealand who is also the producer of the popular Wheat-Bix franchise.

At breakfast this morning, the children were excited as they were not only treated to breakfast but also received gift bags from the company.

Their schools were also recipients of various sporting materials to assist with their school sports activities.

“We want to give back to the community so we asked our local partner ADRA who helped identify 25 primary schools for our breakfast treat,” said Davis.

At least 400 students turned up to enjoy the breakfast treat at the EFKS Hall, Mulinu’u.

Davis said the company wanted to reward their staff for their commitment and support throughout the year so they decided to hold their conference in Samoa and give the staff a chance to experience the country and Samoan culture.

“It is a chance for the staff not only to experience the culture, but an educational and learning activity for the business as well,” he said.

Davis said it is the first time Sanitarium has brought its staff on such a trip to Samoa but it will not be the last for him and family.

Later in the afternoon, the company staff presented $10,000 worth boxes of linen to the National Hospital at Moto’otua.

According to Davis, it is all part of giving back to the community for their hospitality and the warm welcome they received.

The team returns to New Zealand tomorrow.
