New CEO for the Ministry of Women appointed

The new CEO for the Ministry of Women, Loau Donina Tili Vaa.

Apia, Samoa – 25 January 2024: Cabinet has announced the appointment of Loau Donina Tili Vaa as the new Chief Executive Office of the Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development (MWCSD).

Loau was the interviewing panel’s recommendation among a field of five applicants and was endorsed by Cabinet yesterday.

Loau holds a Masters of Social Policy and Public Administration holder from the University of the South Pacific, (2004) Loau completed a Bachelor of Arts, Literature Language –Population (1994) and brings a wealth of experience in social work and people engagement from her previous employment in Australia and New Zealand.

The appointment is for three years.

Cabinet re-appoints MNRE CEO for a second term
Cabinet also reappointed incumbent, Lealaisalanoa Frances Debra Brown- Reupena for a second three year term to head the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE).

Lealaisalanoa Frances Reupena reappointed for another three years.

Lealaisalanoa’s public service started in 2006 with MNRE, then as the Assistant CEO- Environment Sector Coordinator from 2014 to 2020.

She graduated with a Masters Public Policy and Politics from Deakin University, Australia in 2021 and a Bachelor’s Degree-Environmental Studies from the University of the South Pacific.
