Apia, SAMOA – 17 May 2024 – In a touching display of kindness and community support, the Dandenong EFKS Junior Youth group led by A’oa’o Dominic Taeleipu, a graduate from Malua Theological College, visited the Campus of Hope this week.

The youth group is currently in Samoa to attend the annual Congregational Christian Church of Samoa Conference at Malua and ensured a meaningful visit to the children before their scheduled program begins.

The visit commenced with a heartfelt prayer and was followed by uplifting words of encouragement from Taeleipu. Embracing the theme of “Fesoasoani and Alofa”- which translates to “Helping Hands and Love”- the group’s message resonated deeply with both the children and staff at the Campus of Hope.

Emotions ran deep and no dry eyes were seen with the youth group members as they learnt of the children’s journey within the campus.

Youth leaders Sina Taai, Leahrina Koko and Taei Taai led the group in engaging activities, playing games and creating meaningful connections with the children. Their efforts were not just about spending time together but also making a tangible difference even if its just a short period of time. The group then generously presented monetary donation and stationeries to support the campus’s ongoing care and education needs.

The day concluded with the EFKS Junior Youth purchasing $700 worth of goods from the Campus of Hope shop which showcases handicrafts and clothing made by the children themselves. This gesture not only provided financial support but also celebrated the children’s creativity and hard work.

The Campus of Hope, known for its dedicated service to children facing adversity, welcomes the visit as an opportunity to raise awareness and foster relationships that extend beyond the confines of the campus.

“We are immensely grateful to the youth leaders for their heartfelt visit and generous contributions,” said President Siliniu Lina Chang. “Their visit is not only a day of fun and learning but also a testament of the power of community involvement in shaping a brighter future for all.”
