Young lawyer credits parents for her success

Apia – SAMOA – 21 May 2024 – Young Samoan lawyer Raewyn Laumatafiafia Imelda Madeleine Nansen Fong who graduated from Auckland University last week has credited her success to her parents and family support.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts.

“To my mother, you have been such a motivation and source of support I couldn’t live without,” she acknowledged her mother, businesswoman Tagaiofoloa Falenaoti Madeleine Fong.

“I will forever be grateful for your presence and I am honoured to be your daughter.”

She also acknowledged her my family and friends “who made this day successful, I will forever appreciate you all from the bottom of my heart.”

But the most moving part is her late father Dad, Lilomaiava Andrew who passed on several years ago.

“I literally had to quickly wipe my tears before walking across the stage as I felt your presence in the stands.”

And Raewyn promised Dad to look after her Mum and younger brother Marcus.
“I live to continue your legacy and fulfil your dreams. This one’s for you..”

Graduating “is just a start,” said the Raewyn who has set her priorities and commitments going forward, in carving out her own career.

Raewyn is from the villages of Tiapapata, Leauvaa, Faleapuna, Salelesi & Lano.
