The Queen Opens the Camilla Pre-School of Hope

Apia, Samoa – 25 October 2024 – Her Majesty Queen Camilla launched the Pre-School named after her at the Campus of Hope refuge for abused children at Tuana’imato this afternoon.
The Queen was greeted by a young resident of the Campus on behalf of the children residents and acknowledged Her Majesty taking time off her busy schedule to visit them.
“Thank you for your kindness and for making time off your busy schedule to visit us at the Campus of Hope. We are blessed and lucky to be considered by her Majesty,” the young boy said.
He ended with “remember us when you return to our second home of the United Kingdom,” he said.
Her Majesty had a sit down meeting with the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) board members before she officially opened the Queen Camilla Pre-School of Hope.Board member Tania Toailoa welcomed Her Majesty and delegation and shared a brief history o the Campus of Hope.
“The Campus of Hope is a refuge for the children of Samoa who have faced many challenges and today is a special day for SVSG Aiga, and it’s a milestone as we celebrate the achievement of a collective role in child protection,” said Toailoa.She said the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting (CHOGM) provides Samoa a rare opportunity to host and raise awareness on a cause that needs close attention.
Her Majesty was later presented gifts that included a small doll as an emblem of the children and the children’s handicrafts such as fue, tanoa, to’oto’o and painted lavalava.
