Pacific Sports Ministers Unite to Tackle Anti-Doping & Promote Fair Play

Apia, Samoa – 31 October 2024 – The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and Sports Ministers in Oceania have ended a one day meeting in Samoa with the aim to enhance the integrity and governance of sports in the region through the promotion of anti-doping measures.

Co-hosted by the Samoa Ministry of Sports & Recreation and WADA, the meeting aimed to foster a collaborative dialogue among key regional stakeholders, with the shared goal of promoting clean sport.

This is through the strengthening of regional anti-doping programs by sharing insights and strategies that ensure athletes across the Pacific compete fairly.

The forum will promote collaboration between governments, WADA, and local organizations, to create a unified approach to address the challenges facing sports in Oceania.

A major priority is raising awareness of the Clean Sport Movement through regional media platforms to educate stakeholders about the importance of integrity and fairness in sports.
