Ten Arrested in two Separate Drug Raids

Apia, Samoa – 17 December 2024 – Police have arrested 10 people from two separate drug raids and they are currently under police custody.

Nine were arrested from a raid at Lepea and Tulaele last week and one was arrested from Lepea yesterday.

Police said the raid was based on intel from their drug surveillance team and most of the people arrested have served time on drug offences before.

One of the people held in custody is a well known name from past drug raids and one that escaped imprisonment due to the lack of evidence.

Police said the raids were conducted at separate mechanical workshops not very far from each other.

Police investigations are continuing and it is expected more people could be arrested as some of those now in custody are starting to disclose more names to police.
