Apia, Samoa – 5 December 2025 – The Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Minister of Commerce, Industry & Labour, Fata Ryan Schuster, and his constituency of Sagaga 2 Committee, formalising a joint-partnership for the four-year UN Trust Fund project aimed at eradicating domestic violence in the constituency.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in Samoa’s collective fight to protect families and uplift the most vulnerable members of society.

By joining forces, SVSG and the leadership of Sagaga 2 reaffirm their shared commitment to building safer homes, strengthening community resilience, and creating long-term pathways for peace.

“SVSG extends its warmest congratulations to Honourable Fata Ryan Schuster for his visionary leadership and his dedication to the wellbeing of his constituency,” said a SVSG statement.

“His forward-thinking approach and insightful future plans demonstrate a deep commitment to lifting lives, restoring hope, and ensuring that every family in Sagaga 2 can thrive free from violence.”

Under the MOU, SVSG and the Sagaga 2 Committee will work closely together to implement community-based initiatives, capacity-building programmes, and targeted interventions designed to address the root causes of domestic violence.

The partnership also reflects a strong recognition of the role that village leadership, government ministries, and civil society must play in securing safer futures for all.

“SVSG acknowledges the trust placed in the organisation to serve alongside the constituency of Sagaga 2 and looks forward to a transformative journey over the next four years—one grounded in compassion, collaboration, and positive change.

“Together, we stand united to break the cycle of violence and build a stronger, safer Sagaga 2,” said SVSG.
