Lagi Keresoma appointed Talamua Media’s News Editor
Apia, SAMOA – 26 January 2026 – Well respected Samoan journalist Ms. Lagi Keresoma has been appointed News Editor of Talamua Media’s multi-media network.
The appointment was announced last Friday by the Managing Director, Angela Kronfeld-Polu with the departure of Talamua Media’s founder and longtime Editor, Patū Apulu Lance Polu who has stepped down to take up an advisory position with the Prime Ministers’ office.
Ms. Keresoma has been with Talamua Media since 1999 after working as a reporter for the New Zealand based Samoana newspaper and the online portal Events Polynesia.
She has covered and reported on major issues encompassing Samoa’s political, economic and social development over the years.
Some of the stories also challenged the system that landed her and Talamua Media in court against three separate million-dollar lawsuits. The cases, however, were later withdrawn due to the lack of evidence against the substance of the stories.
In announcing the appointment, Talamua Media’s Managing Director Angela Kronfeld-Polu said Keresoma is a trusted and well-respected journalist both in Samoa and internationally.
“Lagi is very much part and parcel of Talamua Media’s overall development from its humble beginnings and through its migration to digital media with its Online news service and current affairs products.
“We have our total trust in her ability to uphold and continue the outlets continuing legacy as a globally recognized and respected news media service,” said the Managing Director.
Ms. Keresoma is also the President of Samoa’s national media association, JAWS.
