Apia, SAMOA – 01 April 2026 – Motorists will pay 3.1 sene a litre more for petrol and 9.9 sene more for diesel as the new petroleum retail prices are now effective for April 2026.

Following are the new retail prices as announced by the Minister of Finance last night:

  • Petrol: increase by 3.1 sene per litre, from $2.82 to $2.85
  • Diesel: increase by 9.9 sene per litre, from $2.99 to $3.09
  • Kerosene: increase by 6.8 sene per litre, from $2.63 to $2.70

Samoa’s April retail prices are based on the cargo uplifted in February from Singapore, which was discharged in Apia on 25 March with the next cargo is due to load in late March/early April for delivery in early May.

The increase in prices reflects market conditions prior to the outbreak of the Iran/USA/Israeli conflict.

The Government is urging motorists and businesses to purchase fuel responsibly and that despite the outbreak of the Iran/USA/Israeli war, there is no current fuel shortage in Samoa.

However, panic buying and unnecessary stockpiling place avoidable pressure on supply and may restrict access for essential services and other members of the public.

The public is also reminded that fuel hoarding is illegal and presents serious fire and safety risks.

The Petroleum Task Force (PTF), in coordination with the contractor, Petroleum Products Supplies (PPS), is actively monitoring fuel distribution nationwide. Service stations are to continue normal operations while maintaining appropriate control over fuel sales.
