Apia, SAMOA – 14 April 2026: Supreme Court Justice Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma has sentenced repeat offender Apisai Joseph Pilitati of Leufisa to three years in jail on multiple theft charges.

Justice Roma emphasized the need for stricter consequences for repeat offenders, condemning Apisai’s pattern of unlawful behaviour.

Apisai previously served 18 months in prison and was released in May 2025 but found himself on the wrong side of the law again.

Just two months after his release, police records stated that Apisai broke into a family home in Tanugamanono around 3 to 4 am stealing a JBL Bluetooth speaker.

Further investigations uncovered security footage showing him breaking into a business in Leufisa at approximately 2 am on 5 November 2025.

During this break-in, he stole another Bluetooth speaker, 12 pairs of shoes and several sets of clothing.

Justice Roma stressed that such repeated offenses undermine the rule of law and warrant firm penalties to deter future criminal involvement.
