Apia, SAMOA – 21 April 2026: The Latter Days Saints (LDS) Church has stepped in to assist the Ministry of Health’s Prosthetic Unit at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital.

The assistance includes the funding of a special Clinical Service & Rehabilitation Support Facility and a 15-seater van for their mobility work.

Representing the LDS Church, Elder Denny Faalogo said the donation is not just a handover, but an expression of love, compassion, and services for our brothers and sisters.

He hopes the donation will assist not only the nobility side of the work but additional resources to support disabilities and people with limb loss or amputees.

He said the aim is to support individuals who have suffered injuries, illnesses, or disabilities, and help them regain movement, confidence and dignity.

“May this building stand as a symbol of hope, may this vehicle become an instrument of service, may these resources bring relief for many families,” he said.

The Associate Minister of the Ministry of Health, Motupuaa Seve Henney Papali’i acknowledged and expressed appreciation of the church’s assistance.

He highlighted that the handover symbolizes compassion, partnership, and enduring services and the partnership also reflects the church’s understanding of the community’s health needs.
