New Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Customs

Apia, SAMOA – 15 May 2026 – Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mulipola Lemalu Maletino Teofilo as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Customs for a three–year term.

Mulipola brings extensive experience from his service across various Government Ministries and international organisations in the Pacific region.

He holds a Master of Business Administration, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration from Southern Cross University, Australia. He also earned a Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Commerce, and Diploma of Commerce from the National University of Samoa and the University of the South Pacific.

He hails from the villages of Moamoa, Vaiusu, Tuana’i and Leauva’a.

Cabinet also acknowledged the service of Fonotī Talaitupu Lia–Taefu, who served as CEO for the past three years.
