Samoa Football Men’s Team to Compete in OFC-16 Championship

Apia, SAMOA – 8 July 2026 – Samoa Football Under 16 Men’s Team is set to compete in the Oceania Football Confederation Under-16 Men’s Championship in Papua New Guinea starting this Saturday.

According to Samoa Football Federation, the selection was led by the Head Coach and Technical Director of the Samoa Football Association, Michael Martines and supported the Coaching Staff including Faapopo I’amafana, Pualele Lemana and Joseph Kapisi.

The team will compete in Group A, with the first match scheduled for July 12, 2026:

• Papua New Guinea vs Samoa
• July 15, 2026: Samoa vs Fiji
• July 18, 2026: Samoa vs New Caledonia

Coach Michael Martines said the players had shown great progress compared to when training first began.
