U.S. Ambassador Jared Novelly to Present Credentials

Apia, SAMOA – 27 July 2026: The U.S. Embassy in Apia has announced the visit to Samoa of the newly appointed United States Ambassador, Jared Novelly.

During his visit, Ambassador Novelly will formally present his letters of credence to His Highness Tuimalealiʻifano Vaʻaletoʻa Sualauvi II, Head of State of the Independent State of Samoa, officially marking the commencement of his diplomatic mandate.

As part of his inaugural itinerary, Ambassador Novelly will meet with the Prime Minister and key Cabinet Ministers to discuss shared diplomatic priorities. The visit provides a vital opportunity to reinforce the long-standing friendship and mutual cooperation between the United States and Samoa.

Discussions throughout the visit will focus on evaluating active initiatives and identifying future collaborative projects aimed at delivering tangible benefits for both nations. Key focus areas will include:

• Economic Prosperity & Trade: Exploring opportunities to expand trade, boost sustainable investment, and build resilient economies.
• Security & Maritime Cooperation: Strengthening regional stability, safe maritime passageways, and joint security frameworks.
• Education & Cultural Exchange: Deepening workforce development programs, educational access, and historical people-to-people ties.
• Health & Community Resilience: Supporting ongoing public health partnerships, capacity building, and community health services.
