September Fuel Prices up for diesel & kerosene and down for petrol

Apia, SAMOA – 01 September 2026 – Petrol prices for September are down by 2.5 sene per litre, from $3.57 to $3.54.

Diesel increases by 32.5 sene per litre, from $3.89 to $4.22 and Kerosene up by 29.3 sene per litre, from $3.48 to $3.78.

September Retail Prices are based on Cargo loading in July delivered to Samoa in August 2026.

The price variances reflect the continuing uncertainty regarding Crude Oil cargoes transiting the Straits of Hormuz during July which in turn impact refined product priced sourced from SE Asian Refineries such as Singapore.

Petrol prices have remained relatively stable over the last 2 months, reflecting a balance between reduced consumer demand and refinery production capacities.

Diesel on the other hand, as the key input to the transport, construction, power and mining industries, is subject to higher levels of competition which in turn leads to higher prices. Add in the more complex refining processes to make Diesel, further extends the price differential to Petrol.
