Thousands visit USP Samoa Campus & Savai’i Centre Open Day

Apia, SAMOA – 02 September 2026 – The University of the South Pacific (USP) Savaii Centre and Samoa Campus welcomed thousands of secondary school students and visitors from more than 30 colleges across the country for its annual Open Day in Samoa in the last two week.

Celebrated under the theme, “Where Culture Meets Excellence,” the event showcased how USP bridges traditional Pacific heritage with world-class higher education.

Designed to guide prospective students, the Open Day offered direct access to faculty, academic advising, and information on career pathways across a wide range of disciplines.

USP Samoa Campus Director Dr Fanaafi Aiono-Le Tagaloa highlighted the strong turnout and community engagement throughout the day.

“A fantastic display of support and eagerness to discover and connect with all that USP has to offer through its Samoa Campus – academically, socially, support services, scholarships and a pathway to excellence through a guided process,” she said.

“USP Samoa’s commitment to remove obstacles for those who choose to journey with us in building s strong future for Samoa, and beyond.”

For Year 12 Avele College student Josie Tafea, visiting the campus provided valuable clarity for her future goals.

“Exploring the campus as a prospective commerce student was an eye-opening experience,” Tafea shared.

“Touring the School of Accounting and Finance confirmed my goal of becoming an accountant, providing both the clarity and knowledge I need for the next step in my academic journey.”
