Tifaimoana Samoa secures spot in 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney

Apia, SAMOA – 21 September 2026 – Samoa have secured their spot at next year’s Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia, after beating the Cook Islands 72–50 in their last match of the Netball Oceania World Cup Qualifier in Tonga in the weekend.

After missing the last World Cup in South Africa, Samoa are set to make their ninth World Cup appearance.

Tifaimoana secured their place after beating Papua New Guinea 72-56, Fiji 56-50 and Cook Islands 72–50.

The team dedicated their victory to the fans support. “Your prayers, your blessings, your messages and your belief have travelled with this team every step of the way….and WE DID IT! Faafetai mo le tapua’iga, Faafetai mo a outou tatalo!” Netball Samoa noted.

Tifaimoana Samoa and Tonga Tala will be representing the Oceania region in the 2027 World Cup Series.
