Macarthur Adventist College & SVSG Share a Day of Learning and Connection

Apia, SAMOA – 30 September 2026 – Students from Macarthur Adventist College (Sydney, Australia) and the children of SVSG came together at the Campus of Hope yesterday for a day centred on worship, cultural learning, friendship and shared experiences.

The visit formed part of Macarthur Adventist College’s annual mission programme, which provides Year 11 students with opportunities to serve, connect with others and learn through experiences beyond the classroom.

Rather than simply being a visit to the Campus of Hope, the day became a genuine exchange between young people from two different communities, countries and cultural backgrounds, creating an opportunity for them to learn from one another and share each other’s experiences.

The programme began with a time of worship, creating an opportunity for both groups to come together through praise. This was followed by an interactive cultural exchange, where the children of the Campus of Hope had the opportunity to teach the visiting students how to make elei prints, sharing a part of Samoan culture and tradition.

The students then enjoyed games and activities together before sharing lunch, providing further opportunities for conversation, laughter and connection with their new friends.

For SVSG, the exchange reflected the value of creating spaces where children are not only recipients of support, but are also recognised for what they can share, teach and contribute.

SVSG acknowledges the students and staff of Macarthur Adventist College for their willingness to engage meaningfully with the children and to make the visit a shared experience of learning and connection.
