Apia, SAMOA – 4 December 2025: The Electoral Court has dismissed the notification to withdraw the petition and counter petition between Falealili 1 Member of Parliament Toelupe Moaiautele Poumulinuku Onesemo and unsuccessful election candidate Tuiloma Laniselota Lameko.

The court decision was delivered today after perusing evidence provided by the Human Rights Protection party (HRPP) that applied as intervenor in the case yesterday.

The evidence is an audio recording of a conversation between Tuiloma and Member of Parliament for Faasaleleaga 2 Namulaulu Sami Leota where Tuiloma admitted to a settlement payment of $100,000.

The Court has ordered the petition and counter petition to be heard next week and both parties are to ensure their witnesses are available.
