Samoa Joins Pacific Leaders 55th Meeting in Palau

Samoa’s delegation at 55th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM55) in Koror, Palau, is actively participating in the Forum that provides an important opportunity for Pacific leaders to strengthen regional cooperation and advance the shared vision of the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent.

The meeting from 30 August to 3 September 2026, is under the theme “B.E.L.A.U. – Building Economies, Life, Action and Unity.”

Samoa’s delegation is led by Hon. Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molioo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.

Samoa’s participation reflects its continued commitment to Pacific unity, inclusive development, economic resilience, climate action, regional security cooperation that delivers positive outcomes for Pacific peoples.

As a founding member of the Pacific Islands Forum and a longstanding supporter of the Blue Pacific vision, Samoa will engage in discussions focused on:

• Strengthening regional unity and cooperation
• Climate resilience and sustainable development
• Economic growth and resilience
• Human development and social inclusion
• Ocean and fisheries governance
• Building stronger partnerships for a secure and prosperous Pacific future.

Day One of PIFLM55 focused on the Ocean Partnership Roundtable an initiative by Palau the host country, where leaders, partners, and stakeholders discussed sustainable ocean management, coordination, knowledge sharing, and long-term financing solutions for the Blue Pacific.

Discussions highlighted the importance of Talanoa, collective stewardship of our ocean, and strengthening partnerships to protect the resources that sustain Pacific communities.

Through its participation at PIFLM55, Samoa looks forward to contributing to regional solutions, advancing Pacific priorities, and ensuring that the voice of the Pacific continues to shape a stronger, more resilient Blue Pacific Continent.
