Apia, SAMOA – 27 October 2026 – Businessman Tuatagaloa Joe Annandale has donated $50,000 to Fataua le Ola (FLO) and the GOSHEN Trust.

Tuatagaloa,  the owner of Sinalei Resort said the donation was collected at the celebration of his 80th birthday last month.

Tuatagaloa is the Chairman of GOSHEN Trust and also the godfather and one of the founders of the Apia Hash House Harriers (AHHH).

According to GOSHEN Board member Lipa Vaoga, Tuatagaloa had asked family and friends to donate to the cause instead of giving him birthday presents.

The $50,000 donations will support Goshen Trust Mental Health Services and Faataua Le Ola’s public awareness against suicide.

“I didn’t want any presents this year, but I wanted to give something back to my community,” he said.

Goshen Trust Board representative Lipa Vaoga thanked Annandale and everyone who contributed.

Vaoga said the donation would help the organisation support people and families living with mental illness in Samoa and would strengthen its community-based services, including rehabilitation, recovery support, family reintegration and advocacy.

“This kind of generosity reminds us that we are not carrying this work alone,” Vaoga said.

The donation was handed over today at the Goshen Trust office at Vailima where the 2026 AHHH Annual Perimeter Run was announced.

Goshen Trust Patron Afioga Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi attended the hand-over ceremony.

Goshen Trust acknowledged Tuatagaloa, his family and friends, and its Board, Patron and wider community for their support.

The organisation said the gift showed how a personal act of generosity could grow into community support for people facing mental health challenges.
