This pushes the number of community cases recorded since 17 March 2022 to <strong>2,076 <\/strong>of which <strong>583<\/strong> people have recovered and <strong>1,493 <\/strong>remain active cases<strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Approximately 97% <strong>(2025)<\/strong> of community cases are in Upolu with the remaining 3% <strong>(51) <\/strong>in Savaii. There are still no community cases recorded for the islands of Manono and Apolima Tai.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Community Cases by Age Group<br \/>\n<\/strong>According to the Ministry of Health, the prevalence of Covid-19 infection is significantly higher among those aged from <strong>15 to 35<\/strong> and steadily increasing among those between the ages of <strong>35 and 55<\/strong>.\u00a0 Infection among children aged 4 and below is also increasing as well as those who are 65 and over. A total of 20,643 RATs have been administered by the Ministry to date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVID-19 Vaccination Update<br \/>\n<\/strong>Samoa has administered in total 339,214 doses of COVID vaccines so far. This includes 36,806 doses of the Pfizer vaccine for those aged 5 to 11 years; 48,647 doses of the Pfizer vaccine for the 12 to 17 year-olds and a total of 253,761 doses (AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines) for those aged 18 years and over.<\/p>\n<p>According to information from the Ministry of Health, 96.7 percent of Samoa\u2019s eligible population has received their first dose, 69.3 percent have received their second dose. There are 23,163 people of aged 18 years and over recorded have received their booster shots.
