{"id":489,"date":"2021-12-13T17:32:42","date_gmt":"2021-12-13T17:32:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/box5635.temp.domains\/~talamuac\/?p=489"},"modified":"2022-01-11T09:32:11","modified_gmt":"2022-01-11T09:32:11","slug":"seasonal-workers-scammers-facing-more-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/talamua.com\/?p=489","title":{"rendered":"Seasonal Workers scammers facing more charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Lagi Keresoma<\/p>\n<p><strong>APIA, SAMOA \u2013 13 DECEMBER 2021:<\/strong> More charges have been filed against the two men under police custody for allegedly deceiving people by pretending to be agents of the Seasonal Workers scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants have already pleaded guilty to 13 counts of obtaining money by deception by pretending to be seasonal workers agents and are currently awaiting sentence.<\/p>\n<p>The pair, Joseph Lafaele and Viliamu Tuigamala appeared in Court today on separate charges of obtaining money by deception and entered not guilty pleas.<\/p>\n<p>This incident happened last year and the police summary of facts stated that both defendants allegedly obtained $650 by deceiving a woman at Sogi.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding Judge, Justice Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma referred the matter to the District Court tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Both have previous convictions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Lagi Keresoma APIA, SAMOA \u2013 13 DECEMBER 2021: More charges have been filed against the two men under police custody for allegedly deceiving people by pretending to be agents of the Seasonal Workers scheme.
