{"id":54766,"date":"2025-12-04T20:38:35","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T07:38:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/talamua.com\/?p=54766"},"modified":"2025-12-04T20:39:34","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T07:39:34","slug":"court-dismisses-falealili-1-petition-withdrawal-case-to-proceed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/talamua.com\/?p=54766","title":{"rendered":"Court Dismisses Falealili 1 Petition Withdrawal \u2013 Case to Proceed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Lagi Keresoma\/<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apia, SAMOA \u2013 4 December 2025<\/strong>: The Electoral Court has dismissed the notification to withdraw the petition and counter petition between Falealili 1 Member of Parliament Toelupe Moaiautele Poumulinuku Onesemo and unsuccessful election candidate Tuiloma Laniselota Lameko.<\/p>\n<p>The court decision was delivered today after perusing evidence provided by the Human Rights Protection party (HRPP) that applied as intervenor in the case yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The evidence is an audio recording of a conversation between Tuiloma and Member of Parliament for Faasaleleaga 2 Namulaulu\u00a0Sami Leota where Tuiloma admitted to a settlement payment of $100,000.<\/p>\n<p>The Court has ordered the petition and counter petition to be heard next week and both parties are to ensure their witnesses are available.<\/p>\n<p>The petition and counter petition focussed on bribery and treating allegations before and during the August elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Lagi Keresoma\/ Apia, SAMOA \u2013 4 December 2025: The Electoral Court has dismissed the notification to withdraw the petition and counter petition between Falealili 1 Member of Parliament Toelupe Moaiautele Poumulinuku Onesemo and unsuccessful election candidate Tuiloma Laniselota Lameko.
