{"id":56375,"date":"2026-02-21T23:44:36","date_gmt":"2026-02-21T10:44:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/talamua.com\/?p=56375"},"modified":"2026-02-21T23:44:36","modified_gmt":"2026-02-21T10:44:36","slug":"misleading-police-denounce-samoa-observer-story-alleging-pms-sons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/talamua.com\/?p=56375","title":{"rendered":"MISLEADING: Police denounce Samoa Observer story alleging PM\u2019s sons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Apia, SAMOA &#8211; 21 February 2026<\/strong> &#8211; The Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Service (SPPCS) has unequivocally rejected the central allegation of a Samoa Observer newspaper story on Friday 20 February titled: \u201c<strong>Cop transferred after warning PM\u2019s sons for reckless driving<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The story said the Head of the Police Traffic Unit was transferred after he warned the Prime Ministers sons for reckless driving of a police vehicle assigned to the PMs security team.<\/p>\n<p>However, a SPPCS statement rejected the article and stated firmly that no such incident occurred.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe allegation is entirely unfounded and unsupported by any official report, complaint or internal record,\u201d said a SPPCS statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSPPCS strongly denounces misleading reporting. Publishing unverified claims without confirmation from the Service undermines public trust and disrupts the peace and harmony of the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement explained that the recent transfer of Unit Leaders resulted from an internal organisational review led by the Acting Commissioner and Executive Management.<\/p>\n<p>Following this comprehensive assessment, a reshuffle was implemented in accordance with operational requirements, service delivery priorities and the overall organisational needs of SPPCS.
