26 University Students Receive School Fees from Samoa Sports Lotto

The student recipients with the Minister of the Gambling Authority, Lautafi Selafi Purcell and the Authority’s CEO, Tuala Tamaalelagi Siaki Tuala.

 APIA, 10 MARCH 2021: Sports Lotto today presented financial assistance totalling $43,555 talā to 26 university students to help pay their Semester 1 tuition fees.

These 26 students have all met the stringent criteria required to qualify for this assistance, of achieving high marks in their studies but were at risk of not continuing their studies due to their family’s financial hardship.

This fees assistance scheme by Samoa Sports Lotto – is available to such students once only (1 semester’s fees) so as to allow this assistance to be made available to other successful applicants and be able to benefit as many deserving students as possible.

This assistance is one of the ways in which Government ensures that the proceeds of its Sports Lotto operations such as the Samoa National Lotto, Samoa National Bonus and Samoa National TV Bingo are distributed back for the benefit of our community, through Sports funding assistance and Educational grants such as these as well as other purposes for the benefit of the wider community.

The funds were handed out by the Minister of the Gambling Control Authority, Lautafi Selafi Purcell.

The Board and Management of the Samoa Sports Lotto also take this opportunity to thank the public for its support and patronage for its products which has made this assistance possible.

The following is the list of applicants that have met the Samoa Sports Lotto semester fees assistance requirements and have been awarded 1^st semester fees assistance.

4. Timmar Faavela – request for funding to pay for – NUS 1^st Semester fees of $2,060.
5. Fonoteleimalua Amataga – request for funding to pay for – NUS 1^st Semester fees of $2,060.
6. Oloa Lemalu – request for funding to pay for – NUS 1^st Semester fees of $1,568.
7. Laumata P. Sua – request for funding to pay for – NUS 1^st Semester fees of 1,568.
8. Talalelei Suamili – request for funding to pay for – NUS 1^st Semester fees of 1,568
9. Ruta Taito – request for funding to pay for – NUS 1^st Semester fees of $1,568.
