Police arrest two females and six males in drug raid

APIA, SAMOA – 21 DECEMBER 2021: Police have arrested two females and six males after seizing 19 grams of methamphetamine in a raid at Ma’ali Street, Vaitele in the weekend.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, ‘Au’apa’au Logoitino Filipo said the eight people involved were previously released on bail for the same crime.

“It seems like they don’t regret doing this,” he said.

The eight people arrested are in police custody to await their court appearance on 30 January 2022.

Police also discovered utensils used to smoke the drug and stolen properties which police intend to return to their owners if located.

‘Au’apa’au said police were prepared for an increase in the use of illegal drugs during the festive season and has warned the sellers and users to refrain from the practice as police continue its efforts to keep Samoa safe and drug free.
