COVID-19 Daily Positive Cases Decline Slowly as Total Cases Hit 2,433

APIA, SAMOA – 04 APRIL 2022: The latest figures from the Ministry of Health at 2pm on Sunday 03 April, confirmed 164 new community cases recorded “in the last 24hrs.”

The daily number of cases has recorded a slow decline over the last three days. From 245 on Friday 01 April to 203 on 2 April to 164 as of the latest figures of 03 April.

The latest total number of community cases detected since 17th March 2022 now stands at 2,443. Of this total, 1,514 are active cases while 927 people are confirmed to have fully recovered.

A total number of 23,419 RATs have been administered by the Ministry of Health.

Twelve (12) people are currently being isolated at the Moto’otua National Hospital. The Ministry of Health confirmed one (1) new COVID-19 related death in the last 24 hours and brings the cumulative total number of deaths of COVID-19 to two (2).

Today’s report also includes 4 additional historical cases from the repatriation flight, NZ990 from Auckland New Zealand arrived on 29 March 2022 and brings the total number of cases at the border since November 2020 to 56. These cases are not considered active and therefore not included in the active cases total number.
