Samoa records 3rd Covid related death and highest daily cases at 275

APIA, SAMOA – 07 APRIL 2022:  The Ministry of Health has confirmed one new COVID-19 related death in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to three.  The deceased is an 87 year old male with no known comorbidities.  He was however, unvaccinated.

Confirmed Community Cases
The latest Ministry of Health update of 6 April, also confirmed 275 new community cases recorded in the last 24hrs. It is one of the highest recorded daily cases so far with 245 recorded on 01 April.

The total number of confirmed community cases is now 2,997 of which 1,583 remain active cases. There are 12 cases currently in managed isolation at the Moto’otua National Hospital.  Three critical cases are in ICU. To date, 27,830 RATs have been administered by the Ministry.
