Father & son die in shooting – suspect surrenders to police

APIA, SAMOA – 24 JUNE 2022: A 60 old father from Fagapoa, Savai’i and his 18-year-old son have died in an alleged shooting incident yesterday.

The Acting Police Commissioner, Papalii Monalisa Tiai-Keti confirmed that the suspect, a male in his 50s surrendered himself to police at the Tuasivi Police Station last night.

Papalii said the suspect turned himself in and confessed to allegedly shooting the two Fagapoa villagers.

She said the homicide is related to a land dispute.

The suspect is in police custody and investigations are continuing.
