High contestants interest in Miss Samoa 2022

APIA, SAMOA – 19 JULY 2022: After three years of the pandemic lockdown, the Miss Samoa pageant is returning this year and already drawing a lot of interest with sixteen females already registered in one week.
The pageant organisers, Manaia Events Inc. Chairperson, Leiataualesa Jerry Brunt told Talamua the pageant this year is already looking very interesting, starting with the registration process.
The pageant will be held on the 10th of September under the theme, “Samoa Peleina” and will be the final event of the Teuila Festival that month.
According to Leiataualesa, the registrations opened on 6 July 2022 and will close on 5 August and the number of contestants will possibly be limited to 10.
Meanwhile, overseas-based Miss Samoa pageants have already started with Miss Samoa New Zealand to hold its pageant on 27 July 2022, Miss Samoa New South Wales on 5 August, and Miss Samoa Victoria pageant on 13 August.
The Miss Samoa Pageant Categories: Introduction, Interview (Pre-pageant interview and interview on night of the pageant), Talent and Siva Samoa. The Puletasi, traditional wear and sarong categories have been removed.
Fonoifafo McFarland-Seumanu is the reigning Miss Samoa, Miss Samoa NZ and Miss Pacific Islands having held the crown for over a year due to the pandemic lockdowns.
Leiataualesa is encouraging interested young Samoan females residing abroad to participate regardless not having represented a specific overseas-based Samoan community.
The Organizing Committee is also preparing and expecting a wider overseas audience mainly the Samoan diaspora who have longed to return home following the extended international borders’ closure.
